’24: Live Another Day’ Ends with a Strong and Exciting Conclusion

24: Live Another Day’ has concluded and the whole season was a huge escalation after another. While some were undecided, hardcore fans were thrilled – and they showed their delight and interest by turning up for Monday’s conclusion. The last episode was watched by 6.5 million viewers and got a 1.7 rating among adults ages 18-49.

Hours after the finale of the series, it’s great to realise that we can take solace in the fact the writers did not make the same mistake this time around. This time, we got closure.

“All it really takes is a story that fires us up. That’s what got us excited about doing this season,” Coto told The Hollywood Reporter during a call with reporters. “I think what would draw us back if that were ever to happen – and that’s definitely up in the air – would be we or somebody presents an interesting take on Jack, on Jack’s character, and where he is, which would suggest a great season.”

Audrey’s Painful Death

Audrey’s death was agonising for Jack, it was even worse for President Heller, whose only small comfort is that he will forget that pain. Coto said he drew inspiration for Heller’s grief from his own parents, who lost a child. Jack grieved Audrey’s death by beheading Chang with a sword. And Heller reacted by collapsing. He later tragically noted that due to his Alzheimer’s, he wouldn’t even remember that he had a daughter.

Sure enough, “Live Another Day” wasn’t a radical reinvention of the “24” wheel. Jack returned four years later to a different sphere and political climate.
