69th Cannes Festival Poster Unveiled

69th Cannes Festival Poster Unveiled

With barely a month to go before the Cannes Film Festival’s full line-up is announced, the official poster for the upcoming 69th Festival de Cannes has finally been revealed.

This year, the Cannes Festival used digitally enhanced stills from the 1963 film Contempt, by Jean-Luc Godard. It shows Michel Picolli, a French actor/director climbing a long flight of stairs with the Mediterranean Sea providing a glowing, golden backdrop. Truly a fitting testament to a Festival which pays tribute to the roots of cinema and to usher in groundbreaking ways of making and watching films zyban cost.

This time round the Cannes poster committee has taken a slightly different approach as in previous years the official poster usually showed a close up of famous stars, including that of Ingrid Bergman, Paul Newman, and Marcello Mastroianni.

Since 2014 the official poster has been designed by Hervé Chigioni, with the help of graphic designer Gilles Frappier.

Contempt featured some innovative casting including Michel Picolli alongside Brigitte Bardot and Jack Palance and legendary German director Fritz Lang.
