Aimimage Projects at Two International Financing Forums

Two Aimimage developed projects have been selected for prestigious  co-production markets at the Toronto and London International Film Festivals.

Many congrats, firstly, to Director Perry Bhandal and Producer Atif Ghani, who attended the International Financing Forum this year at the beginning of September with their project, Penumbra, the story of a father who embarks on a merciless crusade to avenge the murder of his son.  For those who don’t know, The Toronto International Film Festival’s esteemed IFF (TIFF’s IFF!) selects 40-50 feature projects each year for a two-day networking and pitching event, attended by dozens of industry executives. IFF includes one-on-one producer meetings, a panel discussion, roundtable meetings and multiple other networking opportunities. Obviously, it’s a great privilege and honor to even be invited. Previous projects at IFF have include Ralph Fiennes’s Coriolanus, David Michod’s Animal Kingdom and Deepa Mehta’s Midnight’s Children.  Needless to say, we’re so thrilled for Perry Bhandal and Atif Ghani and the film’s team.

Next up, Aimimage Feature Project, Seven Stages, has been selected for the Production Finance Market (PFM) at the London Film Festival this October, the capitol’s take on Toronto’s International Financing Forum.  Directed by Sidiq Ahmad and again produced by the brilliant Atif Ghani, this high-octane thriller, set in the streets of Mirpur, is brought to you by the team behind 2007’s acclaimed The Last Thakur.   If the film’s early buzz is any indication, it’s sure to be another winner.  We couldn’t be happier for this stellar team.  As ever, we’re so proud Aimimage could help.  (And we’re always happy to help.)

Cheers to both films.  No two teams deserve to be at these International Financing Forums more.
