Aimimage Kits and David Beckham Survive Trek Through Amazon
The multimillionaire international celebrity, fashion icon and former English footballer embarks on a journey of self-discovery in Brazil. David Beckham, now retired after 22 years, is enjoying his freedom to do whatever he wants and he’s chosen Brazil as the place to start everything.
Aimimage is very proud to have provided camera equipment rental services for David Beckham’s recent project ‘David Beckham: Into the Unknown’ for BBC One. This 90 minute feature-length Documentary captured by Director Anthony Mandler, follows David Beckham on an Amazon adventure, travelling through the rainforest to basically “find himself”.
The trendsetting style icon – and recently retired footballer is mainly on motorbike, accompanied by three of his closest friends: photographer and video director Anthony Mandler, biker expert Derek White, and Dave Gardner, his manager and boyhood buddy.
Before flying to Manaus, the starting point of the journey through the rainforest, Beckham enjoys a game of beach foot-volleyball with locals from Rio’s Vidigal favela, but things look set to hot up when almost 800 miles of boat and bike travel brings them to a remote jungle territory, home of the Yanonami tribe.
The Yanonami tribe had never let cameras into their village before so we are very lucky to capture the heart-warming moments of Beckham interacting with the tribal leader, doing his best to describe what soccer is all about. Thanks to our state-of-the-art professional camera rental kits , the whole documentary ended up looking great, enjoyable and easy to watch.
Aimimage prepared the 3 RED EPIC Cameras (two of them DRAGON) and 2 SONY PMW-F55 for the two weeks shoot, deep into the Amazon Jungle. The kit, held up very nicely under the difficult conditions of the Amazon jungle, such as damp and humidity.
