The F5 is a PL mount camera which shoots 4K and records in XDCAM 50mbits at 1920 as well as XAVC, Sony’s new 100 mega bit codec.

Description

Take advantage of Sony F5 rental at Aimimage, the camera capable of capturing 2K and HD internally on the SxS Pro memory card, thanks to a super 35mm image sensor. It can also capture 4K and 2K RAW to an external recorder: AXS-R5. The dynamic range features 14 stops. It also features an FZ mount and includes a PL-mount adapter.

Modular Design

As well as the AXS-R5 recorder, a digital interface on the Sony PMW-F5 allows for many optional viewfinders:

-DVF-EL100 is a 0.7″ OLED viewfinder with 1280 x 720 resolution.

-DVF-L350 is a 3.5″ LCD viewfinder with 960 x 540 resolution, and the eyepiece flips up for direct monitoring.

-DVF-L700 is a 7″  /LCD viewfinder with 1920 x 1080 resolution for monitoring Full HD pixel-for-pixel.

Optional AXS-R5 Recorder

This recorder is designed to facilitate high-speed frame rates to 120 fps in 2k RAW and simultaneous RAW onboard SxS recording. The AXS-R5 enables 4K and 2K resolution video recording in 16-bit RAW

Lens accommodation

Versatility makes Sony F5 rental a great option for filmmakers. Thanks to the PL mount adaptor, The Sony F5 can accommodate a wide range of lenses. For example, the native FZ-mount with an 18 mm flanges social distance. The FZ-mount supply an interface for native FZ lenses like Sony’s SCL-Z18X140 auto focus servo zoom lens, or a wide range of adaptors for still lenses, including Canon FD, Canon EF, Leica M, Nikon F and more.

Dynamic Range Rated at 14 Stops

The Sony F5 has a dynamic range rated at 14 stops of exposure latitude, low noise in the blacks and low-light sensitivity.

Battery

Compared to previous Sony batteries, the Sony F5 one has increased it’s in charge-discharge cycles. The battery called Olivine works with Sony’s BC-L90 quick charger. The camera is also compatible with Sony’s GL65A, BP-GL95A, L60S, and L80S batteries, which use the BC-L70 and L160 chargers. This makes Sony F5 rental popular among many of our customers.

User-friendly one-touch Interface

To facilitate its use, the Sony F5 has been designed with a one-touch access to key shooting parameters such as color temperature, iso sensitivity, frame rate, shutter speed and gamma.

Multiple Choice of Connections

The Sony F5 allows numerous connections including four HDMI, HD-SDI jacks, DC, USB in connection, a removable XLR audio module, and a time code/genlock module which is removable. The XLR inputs accept balanced analogue signals, provide 48-Volt phantom power and accept four channels of AES/EBU digital audio with an expected firmware upgrade.
