Ready For This Year’s Academy Awards?

Will The Revenant repeat its stellar performance during the recent BAFTA? With barely a week away, Hollywood is gearing up for its annual 88th Academy Awards, honoring the most remarkable films of 2015. The event is scheduled on the 28th of February  in Hollywood’s Dolby Theater. Comedian Chris Rock will be reprising hosting duties, having successfully done so during the 77th Oscars in 2005.

The nominees were announced on the 14th of January, 2016 by directors Ang Lee and Guillermo del Torro.  The Revenant received the most number of nominations, garnering 12 in all, followed by Mad Max: Fury Road with 10 nominations. This is the second consecutive year Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s film received the highest number of nominations.
