“The Fault in Our Stars” Return for John Green’s “Looking for Alaska”

“The Fault in Our Stars” author John Green is going to see his first book “Looking for Alaska” turned into a movie. Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, whose big break came with 500 Days of Summer, are teaming up for the said movie adaptation. With the two of them back at the wheel, there’s a great chance that fans will likely be just as pleased with Looking For Alaska. Since the huge success of “The Fault in Our Stars”, the great duo has become one of the hottest writing teams in Hollywood.

It is an exciting step of progress for the long-gestating project. The rights were actually purchased by Paramount 10 years ago, but the project wasn’t green-lighted until after Fault became a hit.

Green’s 2005 debut model follows a boy named Miles as he transfers to a private school during his junior year. That’s where he will meet and fall for Alaska – a mysterious and beautiful student. The girl offers the kind of excitement Miles desires. She is sexy, beautiful and funny, and despite her reckless, self-destructive tendencies, Miles is completely enamored with her.

An Award Winning Novel

The novel won the Michael L. Printz Award in 2006 and has gone to become a cult hit, although it didn’t actually hit the New York Times bestseller list until 2012. A special edition of the book was released earlier this year in honor of the 10th anniversary of its publication. “Looking for Alaska” will be Green’s third novel adapted for the big screen.

Producers Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen, who worked on both Fault and Paper Towns, are on board for this film as well. They will produce alongside Weber and Neustadter.

Film: The Fault in Our Stars

The Fault in Our Stars was filmed using the Arri Alexa XT. The movie shines from two young actors who brought performances very few young people have. It’s a heart-wrenching story with an ending that will leave your breathless for a long time, but with a warm heart and a love story from two young people that will make you say wow.

The story centers on two cancer-stricken teens that meet in a support group and develop a relationship. The novel follows the two through the ups and downs of their disease, as they embolden each other to face an uncertain future.

Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.
